GIANT FOOD WELCOMES SHANE SAMPSON

Landover, Md. (November 16, 2009) – Giant Food of Landover, Md. announced today that Shane Sampson is joining the organization as Senior Vice President, Operations/Sales effective Monday, November 16.

In his new position, Sampson will serve as a key member of Giant Food's leadership team with responsibility for total store operations leadership and customer service, reporting directly to Giant Food of Landover, Md. President Robin Michel.

Sampson brings significant experience in both operations and customer service. Prior to joining Giant Food, Sampson served as Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing and earlier as Vice President of Operations for Albertson’s LLC Texas/Louisiana division. Previous assignments also included serving as President of Albertson’s Florida and Intermountain Divisions as well as operations and sales leadership positions, and an earlier assignment as Regional Sales Operations Manager at Sam’s Club.
