Giant Food Removes from Sale its Nature's Promise Lemon Sorbetto and Nature's Promise Strawberry Sorbetto

Products recalled due to undeclared allergen

July 17, 2009 (Landover, MD) - Giant Food has announced a voluntary recall of two Nature's Promise products because they may contain dairy products, an undeclared allergen. Upon being notified by its supplier, Giant Food immediately removed from sale the following products:

• Nature's Promise Lemon Sorbetto
  UPC#6-8826708958-8, one pint size
  Codes: May 8 11 & June 13 11
• Nature's Promise Strawberry Sorbetto
  UPC#6-8826708970-1, one pint size
  Codes: May 8 11

To date, Giant Food has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of this product. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to any Giant Food store for a full refund.
